Malahide Community School
Co Dublin
The project comprises a new school building to accommodate 1200 pupils. The geometry of the school is based around a landscaped central enclosed courtyard whose proportions are designed to capture daylight with a series of stepped back elevations over three storeys creating the impression of a much larger space. A striking ten meter high steel colonnade supports a butterfly roof overhang sheltering the incoming pupils. A steel and cedar clad briese soliel marks the arrival space of the main pupil entrance.
