M7 Castletown to Nenagh D&B Scheme
Atkins is responsible for the tender and detailed design of the M7 Castletown to Nenagh scheme on behalf of the Contractor, Atlantic Link Ltd., a consortium comprising Somague from Portugal and Bowen Construction from Ireland.
The scheme involves 36km of dual two lane motorway with four grade separated interchanges and 36 new bridges. The estimated construction cost is €150M. Construction work commenced in April 2008 and is due to be completed by the end of 2010.
Atkins is providing all design services, including roads, bridges, drainage, earthworks, pavement, traffic signage, lighting, communications, environmental and landscaping. Atkins is also providing a design site audit role for Atlantic Link Ltd.
