Atkins Role:
Atkins was appointed by Eurolink Motorway Operation M3 Limited in June 2007 to provide Technical Advisory Services for the duration of the Construction Contract for the M3 Scheme.
The M3 scheme comprises:
- 61km of dual carriageway / motorway
- 3.8 km of 2 Lane single carriageway
- 15km of link roads both single and dual carriageway.
- 34 overbridges
- 29 underbridges
- Toll plazas at Blackbull and Grange
Nationally, the scheme provides a strategic transport link along the N3 joining Dublin through Belturbet and Enniskillen to Donegal on the west coast. Regionally the scheme facilitates the removal of heavy traffic from local and regional roads, enhancing safety, reducing travel times and traffic congestion and reducing travel costs while enabling and assisting economic development along this strategic corridor.
