Liffey Valley Local Area Plan

Atkins was part of the team involved in the preparation of the Liffey Valley Local Area Plan (LAP), on behalf of developers and South Dublin County Council. The policy of the Council is to upgrade the present Liffey Valley Centre as a Town Centre and to ensure that it is developed in accordance with a detailed master plan.

Atkins Role:
The provision of transportation planning services to ensure that the centre has sustainable transport access in terms of both road and public transport. This required extensive Saturn modelling in association with the Dublin Transportation Office and the County Council. The LAP takes account of proposed Metro West and Lucan Luas facilities, extensive public bus services and privately operated shuttle bus services. Atkins is also responsible for transport design services relating to the proposed Liffey Valley Phase 2 development which will represent the next stage towards achieving the LAP.
