Old Connaught Local Area Plan

Atkins is part of a team involved in the preparation of a Local Area Plan (LAP), on behalf of developers, landowners and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council for about 100ha of land at Old Connaught to the north-west of Bray. The lands will largely include high density residential development with a planned population of 9,000.

Atkins' specific role in the project is the planning of transport, water and wastewater services and includes the design of new roads and the extension of Luas Line B2 from Wilford through the Old Connaught lands to Fassaroe.

The design brief also includes for the planning and outline design of extensive water storage facilities at Ballyman and and the consideration of access to proposed new wastewater pumping facilities at Wilford leading to the proposed new treatment plant at Shanganagh.
